Congregational Nursing Outcomes Project

Overview:
 

The congregational nurse is a holistic health educator, personal health educator, and advocate for healing ministries.

The basic principles of congregational nursing include the recognition that each person is a multi‑dimensional being, made up of mind, body and spirit.

Diabetes is a serious disease affecting over 110 million persons worldwide and is likely to double in 15 years. The congregational nurse can assist the elderly in establishing routine blood glucose monitoring.

This project utilizes NANDA, NIC, & NOC and Parse theory of Human Becoming to co‑create an improvement of health in the community.

Methodology:

The outcomes project is a review of the congregational (parish)‑nursing nursing project at the Second Baptist Church Leachville, Arkansas.

Implications:

Congregational nursing has made a difference in the lives of the community served by the Second Baptist Church in Leachville,Arkansas.

The congregational nurse has an opportunity to utilize nursing to educate the community and improve the health of the community. Diabetes is a growing epidemic. Nurses can assists in controlling and limiting this epidemic through community involvement.
